Rocket Writing

Today in class we tried a new writing warm up called 'Rocket Writing'.  The class enjoyed it so much they asked to do it a second time!  We will do the Rocket Writing warm up to start our writing lessons with Mrs Clarke for a little while and the champ will post their work to the blog each time.

To play Rocket Writing you have a 'champ' who everyone else must challenge.  The class chooses a topic to write about.  You can write for whatever purpose as long as it encompasses the topic that the class has chosen.  You have only three minutes writing time (fast like a rocket).  Once the time is up the 'champ' shares their writing with the class.  Then others challenge them with their piece.  The class decides which piece of writing is the best and why and then the person with the most votes becomes the new 'champ'.

Today all the challengers that chose to post their writing got a chance to post their writing to the blog - their topics were animals and sport.  You can read some of their pieces below.  From now on it will only be the champ of the day that will post.

Enjoy :)
Mrs Clarke
