Rarotonga- The Pacific Resort

The salty air in the cool breeze against your face.
The soft, pearl white sand sinking in between your toes.
The exquisite views right in front of your eyes.
This is what you can find here in Rarotonga.
We simply call this beautiful place Raro.

My favorite thing that I did whilst in Rarotonga was definitely kayaking with my family. You could capture an amazing view, that you couldn't get if you were just in a car. You could hire a kayak and head off to where ever you wanted to go. As long as you didn't go right into the pacific ocean and get eaten by a whale! Then go ahead.

Another amazing activity was to do snorkeling right off the rocks outside your house. Their were so many fish that i have never seen before. Did you know that there is a fish called 'The Trigger Fish'?
This extraordinary fish looked like a swimming square! The black, yellow and white stripes on the side of the fish made it look like an American taxi! I really loved doing this and advise you to bring a camera!

The Pacific Resort was where my sister (Laura) and husband (Jon) were staying. The resort had an amazing view of the beach and other islands from your own room. When you step outside your door, you are straight onto the beach. There's not many places you can get this amount of luxury in one lot!

I defiantly enjoyed being in Rarotonga and i'm sure that anyone else will!

Thanks for reading!

  1. Hmm trigger fish....does it do something scary? I am envisioning that it has some sort of poisonous spine system! kayaking sounds like fun, did you find that it was too hot?

  2. Hi georgia, i liked on your post how you described how the sand feels when it goes between your toes and the salty air along with the breeze hitting your face.I also liked how you told us what your favourite thing there was and how you could see the amazing veiw while kayaking. The way you described the fish made me imagine what they might look like. Was the pool nice to swim in?

    1. Hi Jeremy, thank you for taking the time to comment. :)
Yes the pool was very nice to swim in, also because it wasn't heated which made it nice to go in the afternoon.

Have you been to the pacific islands before? Which was your favorite?

  3. Hi Miss Harland!

    Thank you for commenting!
No the trigger fish doesn't shock or poison anything/anybody. The name sounds like it would do something dangerous doesn't it?!

The only hot thing about kayaking was the actual kayak from being in the sun all day! It was quite refreshing, we went early in the mornings and the water was cool.

Have you been to Rarotonga? If not would you?

    1. I am imaging that staying out of the heat of the day is the way to go Georgia! Smart! No I haven't been to Rarotonga but I would love to go, especially in the middle of winter. I think Jaime and Liky would love it and it would be great for them to be in the water all day....oh and the kids club!
I agree with Susan Rayner - you could write "copy" for the "Flight Centre" - which means the advertising - I think the integration of the pictures into the text is particularly successful.

  7. Hey Gi!
I really like this piece of writing, It really tells us a lot about Rarotonga. Its exciting to hear more wonderful things about Rarotonga because I'm going there next year. I like how you used a different colour to make the writing more interesting! You also put in there what your favourite thing was (personal voice! :D) at Rarotonga which was cool to read.
